High-quality components and precise control algorithms mean that the device provides extremely accurate readings, even with a result of 0.01 points. If the Kh falls too fast between measurements, the device will repeat the test and, if the result is confirmed, it will notify the user. The aquarist can set a specific measurement difference value to lower or widen the notification threshold.

KH Keeper measures water samples directly from the aquarium and tests for alkalinity. Readings are scheduled at most every 1 hour, 12 times per day. The status of the Kh is displayed in the panel of the Smart Reef App along with the rest of the historical readings. The alerts will be sent by text message and / or email when the kH reading is outside the chosen parameters. 

• Historical readings are available from 1 day to even 1 year before.
• Readings are taken using a reagent; reagent sizes are 1 liter and 2.5 liters.
• Reagent mixing ratio: 1 l of reagent / 9 l of RO water.
